Suvime

When I first started looking for the perfect ingredients for Suvime, I wanted more than just quality — I wanted meaning. I wanted to understand where our butters come from, who makes them, and the stories behind every jar. That’s what led me to Korhogo, in the northern part of Côte d’Ivoire — a place where the air smells like earth, fire, and determination.

There, I met incredible women and young girls who dedicate their days to transforming raw shea nuts into rich, golden butter.
The process is entirely artisanal — long, demanding, and deeply physical. From collecting the nuts under the sun to washing, roasting, and churning them by hand, every step requires both strength and patience.

I remember trying it myself… I couldn’t last ten minutes. My arms gave
out long before theirs ever would. Yet, they smiled — proud, grounded, and
unstoppable.

What touched me most was not just their skill, but their purpose. Many of these women use the income from shea butter sales to pay for their children’s education, support their families, and build a better future for themselves. Every jar they produce carries their hope and resilience — and I knew, at that moment, that Suvime had to tell their story.
